Co-Stars The Stage One Co-Stars group is our most popular group, and although it may still be the first time many of our students have done any performing, by this age they have a bit more of an idea about what they like. Students can choose Drama, Dance or Singing; or any combination of the three, there is a 10% discount if you choose to do all three classes; Drama 8 – 12 years Sunday 10.30am – 11.30am Tuesday 5.00pm – 6.00pm Our drama classes for this age group will introduce a variety of new themes and techniques. The group will explore text work, improvisation, characterisation and role play among other things. Structured game playing and physical tasks will increase students’ creativity, coordination and spontaneity. Skills developed within the group will benefit each individual as a performer and as a person and give them the confidence to work towards a performance at the end of each term! Dance 8 – 12 years Sunday 11.30am – 12.30pm Tuesday 6.30pm – 7.30pm Our dance classes for this age group are an excellent way for youngsters to develop skills and understanding of different styles of movement and dance under one roof. Each term, students will develop technique, apply creative input and learn routines that will be performed at the end of each term. From musical theatre to contemporary dance, our skilled teachers will encourage students to express themselves and give them the confidence to strut their stuff at the school disco! Singing 8 – 12 years Sunday 10.00am – 10.30am Tuesday 6.00pm – 6.30pm Our new fun singing classes are a compliment to the other two classes. Students who do all three classes will really be developing the skills of an all round performer. The group will be given exercises and techniques that they will need to practice to improve their singing voices. Each week the group will practice one or more songs from a selection of different styles of songs. As confidence grows students will be encouraged to sing unaccompanied or as part of a duet or solo.
